UberVariO
UberVariO is an ontology for the standardised, systematic description of pervasive heterogeneity throughout biological entities. It facilitates the systematic characterisation of the various types, effects, consequences, mechanisms, regulatory and limiting factors, and other properties of heterogeneity.
UberVariO is designed for the systematic description of all types of biological heterogeneity in biological processes and systems, ranging from atomic fluctuations to changes in the biosphere at the planetary level.
In each field of bioscience, the most central concepts displaying heterogeneity were identified and described.
The current version of UberVariO contains 7364 concepts with full definitions organised into an ontology.
UberVariO was developed by Prof. Mauno Vihinen at Lund University.
